Research

One question, pursued independently alongside the engineering work.

The question

Can AI be intimate without being invasive?

We confide in AI the way we confide in a friend, but its memory belongs to a company. Could privacy be something a machine is built to be incapable of breaking, rather than a rule we hope it follows?

How it runs

I pursue this as an independent researcher, alongside my engineering work. It is not conducted on behalf of an employer, and it is not currently grant-funded.

Can AI Be Intimate Without Being Invasive?

We confide in AI the way we confide in a friend, but its memory belongs to a company. This talk asks whether chips modeled on the brain could change that.
